Celebrity Stylist June Ambrose

CELEBRITY STYLIST JUNE ABROSE LANDS HER OWN TV SHOW

I have personally been waiting for this! June Ambrose has got to be one of the flyest women in the business, straight sick with it! If you don't know who she is and you think you know a thing or two about style or fashion you know nothing. Luckily for you this show is happening, I can't wait! So excited, throws up glitter, winding my waist, dancing around in a semi-circle.

Rollingout.com reported the story earlier today:

Style maven June Ambrose will wield her magic fashion wand on VH1 on a half-hour docu-series tentatively titled, “The June Ambrose Project.” Ambrose has styled some of the biggest pop culture stars including Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Ripa, Alicia Keys, Sean Combs, Kim Cattrall and even The Dave Matthews Band.

Ambrose and her team will take on the challenge of recreating the images and brands of up-and-coming and established celebrities. Each episode will chronicle the rebranding of these musicians and actors and will be followed with a makeover chat.

Additionally, viewers will have the rare opportunity to see how Ambrose balances family and her role as CEO of her celebrity styling boutique agency, Mode Squad, along with her record label, book projects, style interventions for friends, fashion shows and photo shoots.

“We at VH1 are so thrilled to dive into the fashion world with none other than the industry’s top styling icon, June Ambrose,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production VH1 in a statement to the press. “June is a true original and a creative force of nature who will offer our viewers an exclusive peek behind the curtain into her world of celeb fashion and branding.”

One of the production houses on the project team is Ish Entertainment.  Ish is responsible for: “Road To Redemption,”  the series that followed the rapper T.I. during his year before serving a jail term for gun possession; “The Money and Power,” a series starring rapper 50 Cent in which he gives street advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, and several seasons of “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” for domestic (MTV) and international markets.

The show will premiere in early 2012. –yvette caslin

THANDIE NEWTON FOR LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton has announced actress Thandie Newton as the latest star to be feartured in it's 'Double Exposure' series. Photographed by Tom Craig, the below video shows Newton wearing a selection of looks from the Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2011 collection and surrounded by some of her most personal possessions, including a painting from her childhood, an object created by her daughter and her passport. The images were taken using a 19th century photographic process in which the sitter must pose for 12 seconds and create a “counterbalance to today’s disposable media culture”.  Watch the video and more pics after the break:
BREAKING NEWS: JOHN GALLIANO FOUND GUILTY OF HATE CRIME

Former Dior designer John Galliano has been found guilty of making anti-Semitic and racist comments in Paris.  Galliano has been given suspended fines totalling 6,000 euros ($8,400).

The designer, fired by the Dior fashion house over the affair, said he had no recollection of the two events and denied being racist. Mr Galliano apologised for his behaviour at a one-day trial in June. He blamed drug and alcohol addictions for his outburst. Prosecutors had asked for a fine of 10,000 euros ($14,000; £8,800).
The BBC's Christian Fraser, in Paris, says the greatest punishment has been the damage to Mr Galliano's career; he was sacked by Dior after his arrest and the cost to his reputation has been far bigger than any fine a court can impose. Our correspondent says the judges were convinced that this was a man who needed help rather than punishment. A lawyer for Mr Galliano said after the ruling: "Mr Galliano is relieved. Relieved that these eight months are behind him. He is looking forward to a future with understanding and forgiveness, hopefully, and to put all of this behind him."

Mr Galliano did not attend Thursday's sentencing. In addition to the suspended fines, Mr Galliano was ordered him to pay a symbolic euro in damages to each of his victims and to five anti-racism groups who were also complainants. He will also pay legal costs to four of the groups.

Mr Galliano had been charged with "public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity". The offences carried a maximum sentence of six months in jail, but prosecutors did not ask for the designer to be sent to prison. The fines related to incidents on the evenings of 8 October 2010 and 24 February 2011 at La Perle cafe in the Marais district of Paris. During his trial on 22 June, the court heard how Mr Galliano harangued museum curator Geraldine Bloch about being Jewish in the February incident. He also hurled racist insults at her friend, who is of South Asian origin, for 45 minutes before police came to break up the argument, the court heard. In a third incident, prosecutors also showed the court an amateur video of Mr Galliano, while drunk, declaring a love for Hitler. The designer, 50, did not have to enter a plea to the charges at the hearing, but gave mitigating statements to the court about the incident. He told the court: "They are not views that I hold or believe in. I apologise for the sadness this whole affair has caused."

Mr Galliano blamed mounting pressure at work and said he had developed a crippling addiction to alcohol, Valium and sleeping pills.  So common were these drinking binges his chauffeur was "trained" to telephone a lawyer if the rows became too heated, the court was told. Mr Galliano says he has undertaken treatment for his addictions. Mr Galliano took over the creative helm of Dior in 1996 and won British Fashion Designer of the Year on four occasions.
