CHANEL SUES HUNDREDS OF COUNTERFEIT WEBSITES

This week, Chanel filed a lawsuit against 399 websites that have allegedly sold counterfeit items bearing the retailer’s trademark. Among those being sued are chanelOnline.com, replica-coco-lv.com, and chanelhandbags-outlet.net.

On August 25th at 8pm BET will air a tribute to Aaliyah, spotlighting the talents of the beautiful late singer, her legacy and speaking with those she worked with and inspired in the music business. It has been 10 years since the death of the singer and actress. Watch Missy and Timberland in a sneak peek after the break:

MILKY'S TID BITS: ELIE TAHARI ON-LINE

You can now shop Elie Tahari on line, items including shoes, handbags, women's, men's, accessories, etc. The site will feature an on-line magazine with editorial pages visitors can shop from, trend reports, a rotation of guest editors, and videos offering an insider's perspective into the Tahari world.

Tahari will also have a page called "Elie Loves", with his favorite picks from the line. The designer will update this page monthly.

The designer will also pen a monthly column called "15 Minutes With Elie", for which he interviews notable people inside and outside of fashion.

The site will offer exclusive items, including a silver fox fur vest, a calf leather jacket and a navy crocodile handbag collection, and shoppers will have an opportunity to custom-make their handbags from a selection of fabrics, inner pockets and colors.

Tahari plans to live-stream from the spring runway show at Linciln Center on September 14 on the site.

The five-floor, 61,000-square-foot store will be Century 21's second Manhattan location, and is timed to open for the retailer's 50th anniversary, according to a press release.

ZAC POSEN IS OPENING HIS FIRST STORE

WWD reports that Zac Posen is opening his first retail store in the meatpacking district, which will sell his lower-priced line, Z Spoke. Located on Washington Street between 13th and 14th Streets, the store will replace what is currently the Scoop Beach boutique, and is set to bow on August 25.

MILKY'S TID BITS: CLARENCE OTIS JR.

Each week tens of thousands of diners eat at an Olive Garden or Red Lobster restaurant. Few of these diners know that the CEO heading these large restaurant chains is a black man. Clarence Otis Jr. is the CEO of Darden Restaurants Inc., the largest casual dining operator in the nation. The firm operates nearly 150,000 workers and has annual revenues of $6 billion.

Helmut Lang co-designers Michael Colovos and Nicole Colovos are releasing their first collection of handbags for the label since they took it over in 2006. The range includes duffels, messengers, clutches, and pouchettes and will be available at Barneys this month.

Who knew MC Lyte was the DJ at this years NBC/Universal Pictures rooftop party after the Golden Globes? I absolutely love the way Lyte's career has evolved, who would have ever thunk it. She's not always in the public eye but bet and believe she is definitely on the scene.

She has come a long way from the tomboy rapper from Wingate High School in Brooklyn, NY. She has blossomed out to be this beautiful woman with so much going for her. Not only is she an actor she also does voiceover work which has included AT&T, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Nike and has been the voice behind The VH1 Hip Hop Honors.
