BOXER BERNARD HOPKINS NEW FACE OF PRADA EYEWEAR
Boxing great and future Hall of Famer, Bernard "The Executioner", has been tapped by Prada for a new ad campaign in support of their eyewear line.
The boxer was photographed by Brigitte Lacombe, a world-class portrait photographer, as he showcased the new Prada "Linea Rossa" eyewear collection, named after the "sweet science": Prada Upper Cut, Prada Jab, Prada Barnburner.
"I am thrilled to be a part of this campaign," said Hopkins. "Prada is known throughout the world as a top luxury brand and as a world champion, it is great to represent the sport in ads that will be seen around the globe. People are already familiar with the way I work my uppercut and jab in the ring, now they can see me wearing them in my Prada ads."
The new Prada will run in Italian and international press beginning this month.
Hopkins is joined by fellow pugilists super lightweight world champion Amir Khan of the UK, and 2008 Olympic super heavyweight champion Roberto Cammarelle of Italy, who appear in separate ad layouts.
"Not just thanks to their prestigious track record, but also because of their strong personalities and their sporting talent and determination," a rep for Prada said of the athletes chosen.
I personally am happy for Bernard Hopkins, I don't think he gets the acknowledgement that he truly deserves. Kudos and hand claps to you champ.
