KARL LAGERFELD IS TAKING HIS TALENTS TO MACYS
It’s the moment we’ve all be waiting for: Photos of Karl Lagerfeld‘s collection for Macy’s Impulse are here, and now we know what every woman in America will be wearing this fall.
Macy’s unveiled the collection at a press preview Wednesday night and has since released images of the dresses, coats and tank tops and other little bits of fashion Lagerfeld designed for the retailer. The collection imposes Lagerfeld’s personal style on a number of classic pieces — there’s no shortage of dresses, certainly, as many come in different color ways. Lagerfeld’s black-and-white pieces with high, dramatic collars look like what we imagine would be produced if Chanel ever designed a juniors collection, and a scarf featuring one of his illustrations feels almost like a personal connection to the designer. He also seems to have made his signature fingerless gloves available, along with fun leather-like pants and shorts. But its the long- and short-sleeved t-shirts and tank top featuring drawings of Lagerfeld’s face that we predict will be best-sellers (even if he’s wearing his sunglasses in them).
Pieces of the collection will retail between $50 and $170, and will be available in over 230 Macy’s stores and on macys.com starting Aug. 31. Until then, check out a few photos from the preview and the look book, after the cut.
